This Yosemite engagement session is a dream come true. When Madeline and I were talking about their engagement session, she told me they love to hike and travel. We ended up talking about Yosemite and how amazing it would be to have their engagement session there. We really got excited about the idea of having it here. Yosemite National Park is one of the most beautiful places here and it was unreal to be able to hang out with them and take their pictures here. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to get a reservation to go in the park but I am so glad we were able to get one.
The location we chose is Taft point. Taft Point is one of Yosemite’s top photography locations. We got here about an hour and a half before sunset because we had to hike in for about 30 minutes. Just walking through the woods was incredible and the way the light shined through the trees, was absolutely breathtaking. I was even able to capture some images at an iconic spot. When we got to our destination, it honestly felt like we were at Disneyland. This location felt like the happiest place on earth.
Madeline and Matt’s wedding is this year and they are having a beach wedding. To say I am excited about their wedding is an understatement.
Here are some tips for your Yosemite trip
Avoid the crowds by going on a weekday. Yosemite is a very popular location and spots like this one is going to have a crowd so go during the week to have less people. If you are not able to go during the week, I recommend you chose anytime after September when it is less busy. I photographed this session in October and there were less people here.
Explore the park. I recommend you explore the park and create beautiful memories so when you look back at your images, you’ll remember those and they will be even more meaningful.
Choose a location you love. There are so many locations in Yosemite to have your engagement session. Here are some popular locations: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, Mist Trail, Sentinel Dome Trail, and Tunnel view. These are just a few locations. No matter where you chose, the pictures are going to come out amazing especially when you hire an amazing photographer.
